Stereo-CITE Spatial Protein & RNA
Unbiased spatial profiling of the whole transcriptome and hundreds of protein markers on the same tissue section at single-cell resolution.
Same Tissue + Unbiased Whole Transcriptome + 150 (Human) OR 120 (Mouse) Cell-Surface Protein Markers
Stereo-CITE enables the simultaneous measurement of gene expression and protein markers within the same tissue section, providing a spatially resolved view of cellular phenotypes and tissue organisation. By combining whole-transcriptome profiling with high-plex antibody-based protein detection, the approach supports integrated multiomic analysis at single-cell to subcellular resolution.
Key capabilities:
• Spatial multiomics in situ: Concurrent profiling of the whole transcriptome alongside 100+ protein markers on a single tissue section
• High spatial resolution: Subcellular mapping of RNA and protein expression across centimetre-scale tissues
• Integrated biological insight: Joint analysis of RNA and protein data improves cell type identification and spatial clustering

GET IN TOUCH
If you’re considering spatial multiomics for your research, contact the SAGC team to discuss study design, sample suitability, and advice on which platform is best suited for your next project.
Applications and Sample Requirements
Built on the Stereo-seq platform, Stereo-CITE captures both mRNA and antibody-derived tags across large tissue areas, allowing researchers to examine molecular patterns in their native spatial context. This enables more detailed interrogation of cell states, interactions, and microenvironments than transcriptome- or protein-only approaches alone.
Applications
Stereo-CITE is well suited to studies of tissue heterogeneity, tumour microenvironments, and biomarker discovery, where understanding both transcriptional and protein-level regulation in spatial context is critical.
Sample Requirements
Stereo-CITE works with fresh frozen tissue sections, preserving both RNA integrity and protein epitopes for co-detection. Sample quality is critical, and the SAGC team can provide guidance on tissue collection, embedding, and sectioning to ensure optimal results.
Workflow Overview
SAGC offers a full-service workflow, including:
· Experimental design consultation and antibody panel selection (e.g. compatible TotalSeq™ panels)
· Tissue processing, staining, and imaging (through local histology collaborators)
· Library preparation for transcriptome and protein outputs
· Sequencing via DNBSEQ-T7
· Bioinformatic analysis, including spatial visualisation and multiomic integration
